THE MOST UnIqUe Story Contest Winner IS........................................HAHA I'm not telling you yet.

Alcra of Powkara

By Katie Rich

The alien, Alcra, from planet Powkara looked back at his test tubes. "Just a little crushed deathcap mushroom, and a few squirts of human blood..." he muttered under his breath. He was in the middle of creating a breakthrough for all alienkind. It was his own recipe to destroy all of creation on earth, the top most hated planet on all of Powkara. "Ah ha! Yes...YES!! Perfect!" HE shouted. An evil laugh escaped from his little green mouth. "I have it! Just squirt a puff of this in the earth's atmosphere, and it will cause drastic changes in the climate. Those ugly humans won't know what hit them!" Before he knew it, news of his discovery had spread all over Powkara. It was time to get rid of the earthlings once and for all. He hopped in his mini red space rocket, and started zooming off to the blue-green planet. It was a few billion lightyears away, but with a space rocket as fast as his, it was only a few hours travel. He remembered when the rivalry between Powkara and earth began, almost 6,000 years ago. It began with a simple disagreement, and before you could even say "green alien", Powkara and earth were throwing nuclear weapons at each other's planets. Even now, in the year 8068, things were still tense between the two kinds. "Well, this will settle everything." Alcra thought out loud. A narrow evil smile lit up his wrinkled face. He was approaching earth, and fast. He slowed the rocket down to a slow 1000 miles per hour. He looked back at his deadly elixir stored in the back of his rocket. "Oh yes, there you are, you little devil!: Alcra told the elixir. He started  heading into earth's atmosphere, elixir in hand. All of a sudden, there was a loud bang from the rocket's fuel tanks. They were on fire!  "No....NOOOOO! This is not the plan at all!" He began to pant and sweat. The fire was spreading quickly, and it was too late when he noticed he had dropped his elixir in his hurry to put out the fire. The fire spread over the rocket, reaching the test tube holding the answer to all of Powkara's problems. "NOOOO!!" He managed to shout before it exploded into a million pieces. It was then he realized he hadn't written down the very long, complicated reciped to the elixir. "This can't be happening....THIS CAN NOT BE HAPPENING TO ME!!" *pant pant* It was all over for Alcra and planet Powkara. His ship was burning too fast. He knew he only had seconds before he would be turned to ashes. "You stupid little humans! What is this magical force field outside your planet that's burning my rocket?!"  These were the last words spoken by Alcra. Not just minutes later, Powkara was destroyed by a lone meteor the size of earth. Not a single survivor was left.

Finally, earthlings had won the long battle between the two planets, and earth rejoiced. It is now celebrated once a year on the day named Alcra day on April 15th, when people celebrate with green cupcakes, and rocket shaped pastries.

THE END!
Wow Katie! This was a very exciting, fun, and unique story! I loved the names too! Weirdness and death are always the things I'm interested in and that is what you included! This is awesome! AND UNIQUE! Thanks for entering! And keep writing!
 Ashley asked me if I could not publish her story so yeah. It was super good. Ashley I loved this story too! This reminded me a lot of me and my brother because we are pretty much best friends! I'm usually not really into old war stories, but this one made me really excited and more open to reading them! I really liked this story! It's very unique! Sometimes when people think of unique they think of death and aliens. That's not bad AT ALL! You though described what you thought was unique! Do you get that? Unique story and keep writing!

The Adventuring, Interesting, Unique, Special, Very Different, Day!

Dear Diary,

Today, is going to be the worst day of my life! Today, is a very special day for me and nobody remembered. It’s 12 p.m already so I know that they forgot….

Samantha sat by her bed waiting for something to happen. Anything. Today was her 12th birthday and it seems like nobody remembered. How could everyone forget her birthday! The day she was born and nobody remembered. When she was about to give up on thinking that anyone remembered her birthday, she suddenly heard a knock on her door. Did her family actually remember?!?! With hope, she answered. Who is it? It’s mom sweetie. Could you be ready to leave in 20 minutes? Sure mom, she answered back. Were they going somewhere nice for her birthday after all?! She quickly got dressed and hurried downstairs….Downstairs everything looked normal. No decorations, cake, or even presents. Well, I guess I’m having my party somewhere else, she thought. She walked up to her mom, dad, and 16-year-old brother, Tyler who were already at the door. Oh good! You’re here, her mom said. We need to run to the gas station and we didn’t what to leave you home alone. Suddenly her hope was gone. They did forget. Sadly, she walked quietly to the car.

…………

Mom, Tyler asked. Do you think that Samantha thinks that we forgot her birthday? Well, I think that you might be right, his mom answered. But today is going to be a great day for her and she’ll feel better when the day is over. I guess that your right mom, he answered. I bet that she’ll like the surprise party! Once we get home, I’m supposed to take her for a ride somewhere right? So that you can get everything ready and all of the guests can arrive? Yes, that’s the plan. she said. Now, let’s go to the car. We have a fun day ahead of us.

.…………

Samantha sat quietly in the car. Knowing that they all forgot her birthday, she just wanted to sit in her room. Alone. They just got to the gas station, got gas, and now they’re going home. Why did she have to come when they lived 5 minutes away from it? Who knows?? They just got home now so it doesn’t matter. She quietly runs up to her room. She was going to spend all day by herself. Sitting on her bed again she though. I’m not going to let this ruin my birthday! Since they forgot and I have been up stairs all day then I could leave for a while then come back later and they would never know…With that, she quietly ran out of the house.

……………..

Walking on the sidewalk, Samantha decided to go to the beach since its three miles away. There was a ferry there that she decided to take. She had never been on it before but thought that today would be a great day to try it. Maybe this would be a good birthday after all, she thought. Suddenly, her thought stopped. Wow! She said. That’s a huge ferry! I didn’t think that it would be that big. She thought. It looks fun though. There was a huge crowd of people trying to get on and she just kind of squeezed her way through. Now on the ferry. It was huge. She decided to sit down somewhere. Once she found a spot she thought. What an adventure this will be. I only wish that my family was here. It’s never fun being all alone on a birthday. Sitting there, she cried her eyes out. Then she fell into a deep sleep….

Um, excuse me lady. What? Samantha thought. Where em I? Opening her eyes, she saw that she was in the middle of the ocean, still on the boat and a man who must be the captain of the ship was standing right next to her. What’s going on, she thought. I must have gone to sleep. Now looking at the man, he said. May I see your ticket please? My ticket? She answered. Yes, where is it? I don’t have one she answered nervously. What?!?! How did you get on then, he said. I didn’t know that I needed a ticket. Honest! I just wanted to go for a ride and I saw everyone else coming on so I just squeezed my way through. She answered. Now she was really nervous. You, a, how old are you? Twelve she answered. Ok so you, a twelve-year-old girl got on to this ship without a parent, without paying, and you just wanted to sneak aboard this boat to go to Mexico?! What! Mexico!! No! Please sir, all I wanted to do was to take a ferry ride and I thought that this was it, she answered. How could you get that messed up, he demanded. I’m calling a ship to take you back to the police station, he said. What! Really, I’m telling the truth. Please believe me! She cried. Sorry but I can’t. This has happened before and I won’t allow it anymore. Now, what here. A ship will be here soon to take you home. With that, he walked away.

………

Knock, knock, knock. Samantha, Tyler called from her bedroom. Can I come in? Samantha? Are you in there? Slowly, he opened the door. She wasn’t there! Where was she. He ran around the whole house and couldn’t find her anyway. Mom! Tyler yelled. It’s Samantha! She’s gone and I can’t find her anywhere! What, his mom answered. This is not good. We need to get things ready for the party. I bet that she took a walk, his mom said. If she doesn’t come back in twenty minutes then you need to get her so that you can leave. Yes mom, he answered. Hopefully she’ll come back soon…

……….

This is now the worst day of my life, Samantha thought. Here she was, sitting here in a small boat all alone other than the driver Matthew, going to the police station. Just when she thought that it couldn’t get worst, it did. They had a two hour trip back home which she was not looking forward too. Snapping out of her pity party, she realized that there was a bad storm up ahead. She was trying not to worry but two minutes later it was bad. The boat was rocking side to side very fast! She was holding on for all she could but it wasn’t enough. She fell into the water and then everything went black….

………..

Samantha woke up feeling dizzy and scared. Where em I? she thought. Looking up she saw that she was on a boat. A different one then last time. Still, in the middle of the water. Was she alone? Wait! She thought that she heard whispering. Looking over she saw two creepy men both pointing guns at her. She was about to scream when one of them ran up to her and covered her mouth with their hand. He looked at her and said, if you don’t say anything, you’ll be okay. We saved your life so don’t do anything to ruin ours, you here? She slowly nodded. What was going to happen?

…………

That was some storm that we went through wasn’t it Samantha? Matthew said. Samantha? Stopping the boat, he realized that she wasn’t there. She must of fell off. Matthew quickly turned the boat around and started looking everywhere for her. She said that she could swim earlier so hopefully she’s okay. He didn’t know what he would do if he couldn’t fine her. Suddenly, he saw a boat. Hoping that maybe she was there, he hurried over to it. When he got close, he realized that not only was Samantha on there but the two guys who have been wanted for almost a year were on there too. What would he do? He thought. He knew that he just had to save her. So, he bravely drove his boat over there hoping that things would be okay.

…………

Samantha sat there very worried. Wondering what was going to happen to her. Looking up, she saw a boat coming. She wasn’t sure to be happy or scared. Could it be someone to help or more bad guys? Just as the boat got right next to the one she was on, she realized that it was Matthew! He had come to help her! A little scared of what would happen, she quietly land down on the bottom of the floor. She looking up and she saw Matthew getting into their boat! She was going to be okay! Or was she? All three of the men were getting into a huge fight! With Matthew being all by himself, she was sure that he couldn’t win. Matthew though, got both of the men into his ship and tied together! She was going to be okay! She ran onto the other boat and hugged Matthew. Thank you so much for saving my life! She said. Now, she could get home.

…….

Mom! I still can’t find Samantha anyway! I’ve been looking for three hours! She must be on a walk, Tyler said. Oh no, said his mom. What will we do. Suddenly, the phone rang and his mom ran other and picked it up. Hello? She said. What? Who? Samantha? No! Is she okay? Yes, we’ll be right down. With that, she put the phone down and started to worry. Mom, what is it? Tyler asked. It’s Samantha. She somehow got on a boat, had to go on a different one to be taken home, fell off, some bad guys got her, and she’s okay now but she’s on a boat with the two bad guys and the river who the said his name is Matthew. What?! He said. Let’s go get her! Tyler, go get your dad, quick! As they all ran outside, the guest all puled in for Samantha’s surprise party. The mom quickly ran up to them and told them that they could go into the house. Then, she jumped into the car to go get Samantha.
…......
Samantha sat quietly at the police station. What a day this has been. If only she would have sat in her room. Even though they all for got her birthday, it didn’t matter anymore. She just wanted to be home with her family. She was sitting there quietly when her parents came in. Mom! Dad! Tyler! She cried and ran to them. I’m so sorry for everything! Please forgive me. It was very foolish for me to do. Of course we all forgive you, said her mom. We’re just glad that your safe. Officer, her dad said. How much money do you need for all that our daughter did? Well, he started but we interrupted by a knock on the door. Come in, he said. A police walked in and said. There’s a 1,000 dollar reward to Samantha and Matthew for all that they did sir. Okay, leave it in here. Yes sir, he put the money down and walked out. As we were talking about, the officer said. It will cost about 1,000 dollars so we’ll get take this reward money. Okay, that’s perfectly fine with me, her dad said. Is she free to go officer? Yes she is. With that, they all walked quietly to the car.

…….

Mom, dad, Samantha started, I’m really sorry again for everything. I shouldn’t have ever done it. We know honey but why did you do it? Her mom asked. Well, since none of guys know, today is my birthday and everyone forgot so I was going to go out to have some fun. I really shouldn’t of done it though, I’m so sorry. It won’t happen again. I promise, she said. I’m glad that you know that it’s a big deal, Samantha and were glad that you won’t do it again. Her mom said. Right as her mom finished saying that, they pulled into their driveway. Samantha quietly got out and walked to the house. She opened the door and was shocked to see what she saw! All of her friends and family were there! It was a surprise party and she was definitely surprised! Happy Birthday Samantha! They all said. Samantha ran up to her family and hugged them. So, you really didn’t forget about my birthday them? Of course not honey! We all love you very much and we would never forget such a special day for you! Wow! Samantha thought. All day I was sad because I thought that they all forgot my birthday and this whole time, they were planning a surprise party for me! I’ve definitely learned my lesson to always be content. I have the best family ever!

Dear Diary,

How foolish I have been today! I’ve been sad just because I thought that they forgot my birthday which was wrong. Even if they did forget, I still shouldn’t have acted the way I did. Today was really an adventuring, interesting, unique, special, very cool day!

Maddy this was a really good story! This was very unique and very exciting! You never knew what was going to happen so it kept you on your toes the whole story! It was very simple, but exciting and fun! AND UNIQUE! Thank you so much for entering! Awesome story and keep writing!
                                          Cliché With a Twist
                                                                   By Mikayla H.

One upon a time, there was a girl who didn’t know what she was doing. That would be me. Quintessa. Second year high school student, wannabe artiest, and full time klutz. Perhaps it was the way the instructions were written, or the fact that I was standing in an almost pitch black room but I couldn’t make heads or tails of them. So I was winging it. Bad decision, by the way, when you are trying to do science assignment. If you mix chemicals you can’t see you can get an explosion that will bring you mom screaming downstairs and you neighbors knocking to your door. It can also get you grounded for a very long amount of time. So yeah, I get some quality time with my room this week and next week, and the week after that. But hey, it’s more time to work on my writing.
Honestly though, I have no idea how to write a book. But since I have three weeks of only coming out of my room for meals, and no getting online, I figured I needed a new challenge to fill my time. How was that going? Well I had a full four words; Once upon a time. I had written that ten minutes ago and was still waiting for the next part of the story to come to me. Anyone could write a story, I knew that, but I wanted my story to be different. Something that everyone would be excited to read the next page of because they could never see what was coming next. But I think that kind of story has also been a little overused to, don’t you? To twist plot, or not to twist plot, that was the question. And it was also a very hard question, which is probably why I only had four words down so far.
“Quintessa!” A voice came from outside the house.
 I rushed to the window, threw it open, and stuck my head out to see my friend, Jasper, standing down a floor below on our lawn.
“What are you doing here?” I smiled, glad to see someone besides my parents for a change.
“You haven’t been to the orphanage in three days! I was getting worried about you.”
“I’m not allowed to come out of my room.” I shrugged.
He groaned “You didn’t try art on your mom’s wall again, did you?”
“No, thankfully I’ve been able to restrain myself for the past five years.” I laughed “I just had a little incident with my science experiment.”
“How long are you in for this time?” He crossed his arms just like my dad, though he looked more comical because he was only sixteen.
 “Three weeks. I’m trying to write a book this time, but I’m stuck.”
“Where are you stuck?”
“Right after ‘Once upon a time’. I can’t decide if I want to do cliché or unique.”
Jasper laughed “Just write cliché with a twist and you’ll be good.”
“That’s perfect! Thanks Jasper!” I cried, ducking my head back inside the window.
“I’ll stop by in a few days.”  I heard him call, but I was already busy scribbling down my story. That kid was a genius.
I still had no idea what I was doing, but at least I had an idea on how to do it.
Mikayla this was so awesome! I loved this story! It was very random and simple, but very unique and fun! It kept me on my toes and made me read kind of fast because it was so interesting! Awesome story! AND UNIQUE! Keep writing!

  Crash! I slipped behind my older sister’s shadow as we listened intently in our room, not daring to speak. I glanced about the room quickly, taking in all I could. The room had an earthen floor, with two threadbare sleeping mats rolled up in a dusty corner. A small water jug, once my mother’s, sat on the floor next to them, freshly filled after my morning visit to the well. I had a feeling that I might not see them again.
    "Joan, it's the homme d’armes. They've broken down our door. Give me the sword and run. Hide! Quickly!" she whispered urgently. I handed her the sword I had found in the meadow earlier, and turned to run. Then I stopped in my tracks. I couldn't do this. I couldn't leave Catherine, my only sister, alone to fight who knows, maybe four, five homme d’armes. According to what I had heard, they were going from house to house, killing the French.
    She seemed to read my thoughts. "Run, Joan, run. It's better to have one die than two. You’re only twelve. Please. Go. That way, I won't have to worry about you," she pleaded, shaking and gripping my hands tightly in her own trembling ones.
"Alright, Catherine," I replied wearily as I stole one last look at her, turned on my heels and fled to our secret hiding place - a secret compartment in our pantry wall that our father, Jacques d’Arc, had hollowed out when the war had began. It was large enough to hide four. The wall stood right before the entrance to our little room. I removed the bricks that concealed the hideout and clambered into the dank ledger before replacing the rough, brown bricks. As I was about to push the last dusty brick into place, I hesitated. Shouldn't I leave a peephole so I would be able to watch over Catherine from here?
    Slowly, I bent to put down the brick I was holding. With the faint light that shone through the hole, I found a cracked brick that was just the right shape for the space. I picked it up and eased it into the wall, leaving a small space for me to watch Catherine.
Moments later, I heard the low growl of a British soldier. Then came Catherine's terrified cries. I bit my lip to keep from crying out as I crept silently to my peephole to watch Catherine. Squinting, I made out her slim figure being thrust about by heartless men in the dim room opposite my hiding place.
   The men-at-arms, as the English call them, were kicking her around, pummeling her with rock-hard fists, yanking her hair out, and dragging her around by the hair. One of them, roughly dressed, and unshaved, hung back, watching his comrades with sinister satisfaction as they spat on Catherine and humiliated her. They grabbed her arms and legs and jerked them as if to rip her apart. They tore her dress off her and intoxicated themselves. Catherine's screams alone were enough to petrify me.
I inched back into the crack that would have been our hiding place—not just mine. Sinking down into the rough gravel and bricks, I prayed a quiet prayer and closed my eyes. I could hardly bear it.      Suddenly, the ledger felt like a detestable place to me. It had given me a place and a reason to abandon Catherine. I hated myself for leaving her.
Suddenly, Catherine fell silent. I knew something was wrong. Again, I padded softly to the peephole. All I could hear were the soldiers' delighted voices and sinister laughs.
Catherine lay lifeless on the earthen floor, an evil pool of blood forming around her. A dagger hilt protruded from her stomach, and she was covered in bruises. Locks of her beautiful golden-brown hair lay strewn about wildly.
    The soldiers did not stop there. I watched in horror as they raided our house. They took our food, our books, and even Mother's golden cross chain. They took away everything that had made home home since I was born.
     As I watched them, anger boiled in me. I was angry at them for killing my parents. I was angry at them for killing my sister. I was angry at them for robbing us of our livelihood. I was angry at them for robbing innocent French peasants. Couldn’t they see that what they saw was all we had? Maybe my father was a village official. Maybe he was a tax collector. But it didn’t mean that we were rich. We were still poor.
    When the soldiers finally left, I tore the bricks out from the wall and raced to Marion's side. I had to face it. Catherine, my sister, was dead. My sister, who had been both father and mother to me when the war had taken our parents. I lifted her once fine dress and laid it over her motionless body. It was stained with blood, but I didn’t care. It was her favorite dress. It belonged to her.

Tears flowed down my cheeks unchecked. I gingerly picked up a lock of Catherine’s hair, running my fingers over it as I sat on the ground beside her, hugging my knees and cradling my head in my arms. Catherine. Catherine! Why didn't you hide with me? I would rather that the soldiers had found us and killed us together. Why, Catherine, why?

I had nothing left -- nothing to live on, nothing to live for. All my childhood years in Domrémy had been peaceful, only to be destroyed by the English Armée de Terre. I didn't understand why. I only knew it was the end.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suddenly, I grew warm and sensed a presence. A brilliant light flashed around me. Someone called my name. It was a clear, loving voice. I shielded my eyes and turned slowly.
A young girl, perhaps three or four years older than I was, stood before me. She wore a shining garment of white that radiated light and warmth.
   "Do not be afraid, Jeanne d’Arc. You are blessed!" I stepped back, eyes wide with terror. Not only did she know my name, she seemed to be an angel.
    "W-w-who are you? What have I done?" I cried.
   "Jeanne, you are blessed! God has called you to fulfill His plan," she smiled. "He has chosen you to deliver your people."
   "B-b-but me? A girl? Fight? How is that possible?" I stuttered.
   "Nothing is impossible with God." With that, she vanished.
   I began to think. Maybe it wasn't the end. Maybe it was just the beginning.
Charis this story is very sad, but I LOVE IT! It's very unique! Again for you and Ashley's story I'm not in to war stories much, but both of you kept my toes high! It was a very unique and exciting story! VERY VERY SAD THOUGH! I love sad though! It's awesome! This reminded me of me and my sister! Although I'd probably be the one fighting even though I'm younger. Thank you for entering! Awesome story! AND UNIQUE! Keep writing! Thanks!
My hands and feet rattle nervously as I sit. The area is live and bumbling with teenagers and families as the dawn of the weekend sported on all of us. Fingers tap on the cold surface of the table as I wait anxiously for the person that I am waiting for. Today is the day that will finally seek advice and answers to a question that has been on my mind for a very long time.
                “Jordan?” I look up through my brown bangs to the owner of the voice.
                “Mr. Stewart,” I say.  I give him a sad smile and notion for him to sit at the table across from mine. “I know I’m not your student, but you and my family are friends and… well, I need answers.” I take another sip from my drink. From the corners of my eyes I could see him trying to make eye contact with me, but I quickly shy away. “You’re the best when it comes to advice, anyway.”
                “What’s on your mind?”
                Silence as infused in the tiny atmosphere that we have created. For a while, I do not say anything. I resort to recollecting my thoughts, shuffling and making sure that the problem I was going to tell him—which I have rehearsed well in my head many times—would be well said and received. I pray silently, hoping that answers will come through.
                Mr. Turner did not attempt to speak as well. At the age of 30, he seemed to be a man of wisdom. Blonde hair swept his head. The lines on his face were faint yet noticeable, and his eyebrows, even when they are furrowed, hold a depth of concern. He is like a second father to me, and I know that whatever I mention to him he shall forward to my parents, as well.
                “What happens if you are jealous? Of people that you used to be friends with, but are not.”
                No words came from Mr. Stewart’s mouth, for a while. My eyes stared nervously, waiting for an answer. Being a teacher who taught the fifth grade, he must not have been accustomed to dealing with the problems of an eighth grader. Plus, he first met me under a different persona: back then, I was too terrified to speak my mind or even stare at him directly in the eye.
                “Jordan.” My elementary teacher sighs, massaging his forehead continuously. “I wish I could help, but jealously advice isn’t necessarily something that falls in... my expertise.”
                My lips purse, and for a moment, I feel let down. “Wait. Come with me.” I drag Mr. Stewart out from his seat and pull him towards the elevator. “There’s something you need to see before I explain myself some more.”
                The two of us ride up the elevator. Passer-byers gleam at us as I run frantically in the hall. My eyes coop slowly into round circles, like binoculars, peering through the looking glass of each store and trying to locate the thing that I wish Mr. Stewart to see. More people gave us dirty looks, scowling at Mr. Stewart, “Watch your daughter, mister!”
                He did not bother to argue back.
                “There they are.” I pant and heave deeply for air, giving a weak arrow of direction. Inside the ice cream shop stood four people from my school, all laughing and smiling at one another. “Those are the people I’m talking about.”
                Mr. Stewart gave a frown. “You used to be friends with these people? I don’t see the problem…”
                “I’m jealous. Remember how I was in fifth grade?” He nods. When I was in his class, I used to be in a group of friends like them, friends that hung out with each other no matter what—until an incident ensued. “I used to be friends with them. I thought I could find what I had in fifth grade in them, but… I guess not.”
                We examine them from under another set of escalators. My legs swing back and forth from the bench that we decide to rest on, next to the cell phone case booth. “So, you are jealous of them for having something that you used to have?”
                “Or wish that I have again. I was really happy when I was in fifth grade, and now… I don’t know. Will I ever find that again?”
                Mr. Stewart booms, “Jordan, I can’t predict the future. I don’t know what will be in your life and what you will deal through. But I know… I know that, if you keep up with your kind demeanor, you will potentially find something like that again. If you don’t mind, may I ask you a question?”
                “Go ahead.”
                “Why aren’t you no longer friends with those people in the ice cream shop? They seem genuinely nice enough.”
                “Because,” I rasp. I undergo a bit of a coughing fit as the ice in my throat slid, then continue. “Differing interests, I guess. Things used to be so simple when I was younger, and now, I can’t connect to them.”
                “Have you tried?” He lifts an eyebrow.
                “Yes… no. I think I have. I don’t know.” I give out a laugh. “This seems ridiculous that I am whining over this, but I have tried. I’ve tried talking to them, and—“
                “And?”
                “I cannot connect to them.” I turn to face my old teacher again. “Our conversations get nowhere. You can’t force friendship onto people, no matter how much you want it to happen. Maybe it’s because of my jealousy.”
                “Whatever you may be jealous of, you just have to let it go. ‘Sometimes things fall apart so that better things can fall together.’” Mr. Stewart keeps his gaze forward to the cashier of the phone case booth shaking hands with a customer. “Maybe… if you let go of your jealousy, you can try again. Don’t try to base off a new chapter of friendship by an old one. Make it something new, and perhaps it will be better than before.”
                “Maybe.” At this point in time, I see that the four in the ice cream booth noticing me. The expressions on their faces remain blank, and for a minute, my insides feel the need to panic. One of them gives a small wave. I give a shy wave back.
                “Atta girl.” Mr. Stewart pats my shoulder. “Go.”
                “What?”
                “Go on to them. Take the first step. Remember to let go.” I get up from my seat and make my way towards the group. “And, Jordan?”
                “Yeah?” I turn back around to my old teacher. This time, he was smiling at me. I could feel a surge of pride coming from him.
              “I have faith in you.” I return a smile back at him, and then I make my way, with a feeling of happiness and confidence, to go off and perhaps start off something new.
  5. Oh my gosh, I cannot believe that I got second place, but honestly? All of the other entries were so amazing and beautifully crafted, and it definitely shows the talent that our blog community has! As for my prize, um, I'm not sure yet because I'm leaving on vacation in several weeks and I won't be back until the end of July! I'll email you once it's all sorted out. :)
    xoxo Morning
