A Soldier Obeys and So He Did

A Soldier Obeys and So He Did

By: Ellie Richardson

The Glorious Hussar is a book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle about the life of a brave and fearless man named Brigadier Etienne Gerard. There are so many very long stories of him with long details, but I will only tell you a little. Etienne has had a thriller life with many ups and downs. Although he’s encountered with death almost all the time he always has a sense of little humor. Here are some stories about him and his horse (Violette).

In the chapter “How the Brigadier Won His Medal” Gerard is asked by Napoleon to go and give some important messages along with another soldier and deliver them to Paris. Although these two men are a little scared of the mission because Napoleon has told them to go the way that is surrounded with Prussians (their enemies) instead of an obvious easier route to Paris at will be much safer. In the chapter soon these two men depart as Gerard goes the way he was supposed to go to and the other man goes the easier way. Although many dangers encounter Gerard he was safe and did what his commander Napoleon told him to do. In the chapter Gerard meets his friend Bouvet who he saved one when he was in danger. Listen to this conversation with his great friend,

“The enemy is here. You cannot go.”

“I prefer to go where the enemy is.” Gerard answers.

“But why not go straight to Paris with your dispatch? Why should you choose the pass through the one place where you are most certain to be either taken or killed?”

“A soldier does not choose. He obeys” Gerard replied.

In the end Etienne won his medal which he was very proud of and the other man (Charpentier) the captured by the Russians.

Etienne had many other adventures even more exciting than this story although this one was my favorite. Etienne stabbed a man right through his beard once. He also had to meet a horrible and mean king once, but didn’t get to talk much because soldiers attacked him and he died. Etienne looked like he murdered the man, but things worked out. He also walked in the adventure of going into the Castle of Gloom with a scared boy who had to go in there. They got trapped in a room with food, but soon got out when they caught the Castle of Gloom to get out. Etienne ended this book with going on a ship with other men. He had to cut his mustache unfortunately and grow a beard which wasn’t his style, but he figured ladies wouldn’t be on the ship so he’d be fine. Etienne was a fearless man and quite busy, but he dreamed for lady to live life forever with which he soon found in another book of his. Until I read the second book and tell stories of it for you goodnight everybody.

THE SCHOOL TAG

Hello everyone!
All I have to say is
THANK GOD FOR WEEKENDS!
THANK YOU THANK YOU GOD FOR WEEKENDS!
Lol I love the weekends.
Weekends calls for shells and cheese
Getting to have sleepovers with your siblings
Staying up late laughing and watching Star Wars
And spending time with your family!
And eat GOOOOD food!
Anywho, as you saw on the title I'm doing the school tag, but before.
I just wanted to say.
That I know school is hard and it pretty much takes up all of your time,
BUT
It's so worth it.
Someday I want to be someone who has a great career.
I look at the doctor's, builders, accountants, political people, and say
I want to have a career like them someday.
But I know that they only have the career because they worked hard on school.
So keep going!
You got this!
It'll be hard, but SOO worth it.
And also.
Thank you parents and teachers!
Without them you wouldn't be where you are.
My parents always tell me keep doing my studies.
Sometimes I would go out of piano and say I didn't want to do it anymore.
Or writing class.
I didn't like math.
But they always encouraged me.

the word HATE

HATE
verb (used with object)hated, hating.
1.
to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest:
to hate the enemy; to hate bigotry.
I've been trying to get better and not say hate so much.
Hate really is a strong word.
And when we say we hate someone that means a lot.
God told us to love everyone.
If you hate something or someone that makes you a hater.

             HATER

a person who has an intense dislike for another person or thing (often used in combination): I'm abig hater of opera.

2.
Informal. a person who thrives on showing hate toward, criticizing, or belittling other people or things, usually unfairly:
The guy is just a hater, looking for a fight.
Now I don't know about you, but I don't want anybody saying I'm a hater.
We might hate someone because of their sin.
John 3:15 says this,
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
When we hate people for their sin we don't recognize that we have the same sin too.
In Romans 3:10 it says,
As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
In Mathew 7:1-5 is says to,
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
We don't not understand that we are sinners too.
We forget that we're not perfect either.
But instead of hating each other we need to love.
We need to forgive each other.
I love these verses telling how God forgave us.
Hebrews 10:17
Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Everyday we want to be more like Jesus.
We need to forgive like Jesus does.
And we need to love each other.
Not hate each other.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 John 4:18-19

18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.

John 15:13

13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Colossians 3:14

14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

One quote I love that I remembering when I say I hate someone.
This is so true!
I love it!

Next time when you say you hate someone I hope you remember this.
And I'll end on this.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I almost never actually LAUGH OUT LOUD to something.
But Mr. Gowan's laugh made me laugh and watch it a hundred times.
Lol so here you go!

What part did you just LAUGH at?
Is it hard for you to laugh when on Youtube?

Heatie Obsession Post #1

Hello everyone!
I am so bad.
Guys, I am so bad.
So bad.
Lol, okay.
Well, remember that poll where I think 5 people voted for me to do a Heartie Obsession Post?
Never posted it.
It's been like two week guys.
So sorry.
Another sorry for you guys.
I'm kinda tired of not getting to say guys because it sounds like I'm talking to guys, but I like saying guys so I'm just going to say guys. Lol
I thought I'd make this into a series because I have a lot to say about this.
So first I think I'm going to do a review.
What I think about it and a little overview.
So first I'm going to do a review for the first season.
Then later I'll do one for the second season (that will probably feature some spoilers in them)
ANYWHO! Okay.
Let's do this.
THE REVIEW
Elizabeth Thatcher a city girl comes into the town of
Coal Valley to become the kids teacher. Little did she
know there was a big explosion making a lot of the
kids without fathers or even brothers. She also
meets a mounty (Constable or Jack Thorton) who at first she doesn't have the
greatest relationship with, but then becomes
very good friends with him. She also lives with
her friend, Abigail. Abigail's husband
and only child died in the coal explosion.
Soon, Abigail opens a restaurant called Abigail's Cafe.
She is also working hard to prove that the mine explosion
was purposely set up by the coal miner's boss, Mr. Henry Gowan.
While that heats up a man named Bill Avery comes into
the story and plans to help Abigail in this investigation.
New coal miner's come in after many men died and a young
man named Billy (ugh I hate him so much) starts getting on
Elizabeth. While Jack tries to warn Elizabeth of Billy maybe
being a criminal, Elizabeth does not listen to him.
Soon they find out he wanted her for her family's money.
As Jack Thorton says, "It's over Hamilton," and we never hear
of him again. Very thankfully. The first season ends with Elizabeth and Jack's
relationship heating up and Abigail's trial coming up soon.

Okay so I loved this season. It's defiantly not as good as the second season, but it was great. I LOVE Jack so much! And Abigail is awesome too. I do like Elizabeth, but I figured out the only thing we share together is we're tidy people. Her whole personality does not match me. I like her a lot though. When you get into a show you hate characters and love them. You get into it. That was me! And my brother even likes this show did I tell you. At first I thought he thought it was weird, but he LOVES it.
Of course because of Jack though. It's one of the only shows that actually have a boy for a main character. That's something you don't find everyday. I love this show.
My rating for this show
Image result for five stars
Tada! A five star.
If you haven't watched this show.
WATCH IT!
It's on Netflix and on youtube for free too.
So yeah.
BYEEEEEEE!

Peace,
            Bernie;P
