August Highlights

WHY HELLO!

I got inspired by my wonderful blogging friends to write a August Highlights post. I never really do these because I think that I forget everything, but I'm going to try.

Highlights

I started doing tumbling classes.
This is a major one. I started and I really like it. Of course it's not always easy, but I've had some great practices and I'm starting to meet some friends and really get to like my coaches.

I started school.
This wasn't a big downer to me. I was actually excited. And I still am!

I got a new iPod. faster. more updated. better.

I watched the Olympics!
This was a big highlight too. Been waiting for this for 4 years guys.

This isn't a highlight, but I've got sick like three times. First, my legs hurt really bad after a tumbling class and I had sinuses. Second, my neck was sore for a couple days. Now, my back hurts and my calves hurt really bad when I walk and sit. #gymnastlife Anybody else like this too?

I've went to bed at 10:30 like every night even when we started school.

I've been reading Christian books.

A pretty awesome highlight actually. The book is called Explicit Gospel by Matt Chandler. It's really good. Look it up guys. ;)

I've got to hold a lot of babies.
 I used to be the baby holder, but now that we go to a new church it's hard making a baby your friend. This little baby keeps coming up to me and she's adorable. Also, my piano teacher's daughter I get to hold for about an hour while my brother plays basketball with the little boys. Also this little boy who loves playing hide and seek. He's my kinda guy then.

Bernie's Random Ramblings // A Look At Summer

Welcome to Bernie's Random Ramblings.

Okay hey guys!
 Today I'd like to give an overview of my summer. It was a good one I must say. First I'll go over my goals and the ones I did and did not do.

1. Read and Learn.
I read, but I can't really tell you any class or something that I learned from. I read though.
2. Read 2 books!
Yay! I did this. Both of the book were a little short, but I read. So that's good.
3. Have a sleepover with three of my friends.
 Unfortunately I couldn't do this. I had my friends over at my house a lot though. HEY WAIT. I actually did have a sleepover with two of my friends. So, kinda. I wanted to have a sleepover with my church friends but I didn't. Maybe soon.
4. Get an iPod.
YES, FINALLY. YAY!
5. Learn how to do a roundoff backhand spring.
I knew this was going to be hard. I didn't get to do this. But I'm training guys. I'm gonna get it soon hopefully.
6. Learn how to do a front tuck.
So, I practiced mostly in a pool this summer with this, but I do feel like I could maybe do a front tuck in the gym with some practice.
7. Develops pictures to put in photo books.
Yes, I started doing this. I was on a role when I realized I skipped a lot
of pages. I did a little but I am going to work more on this.
8. Keep having Tuesday as my No YouTube Day.
Yes, I did this. Yay! I also got to read some good Christian books. One Live Smart. It's awesome. Look it up.
9. Blog two times a week.
I think that I did this really good. I did sometimes not do it two times a week but that because I would have something that would take up my whole day. I like that I need to post, but it's also not a BIG DEAL if I can't.
10. Take pictures outside with siblings.
Sadly, no.
11. Draw more.
I kinda failed at this. I did make a lot of birthday cards for my friends though. Does that count as drawing?
12. Have a great summer with my family and friends.
ABSOLUTELY. I DID SO MANY FUN THINGS. It was awesome!

Now, I'll just say some highlights of my summer.
1) I went on my first rollercoaster.
2) I visited friends that I haven't seen in a long time.
3) I went to an awesome camp with my youth group!
4) I also got a concussion.
5) Started doing tumbling classes.
6) I actually swam A LOT GUYS. We usually don't swim a lot but this year was different.
7) I got to be more comfortable with the people at my new church. I also made really good friends.
8) I WATCHED THE OLYMPICS!
9) I learned how to do a backbend kickover. Oh guys I was so happy to get that.
10) I HAD A GREAT SUMMER.

This summer was awesome. Lots of
laughs. Lots of love. Lots of family. And I thank God everyday for the family and friends who made this summer awesome. It was awesome guys. We are all so blessed.

Hope you had a great summer too!

If you have not please enter for my giveaway. You will get a chance to win a beautiful watercolor card set. Please enter guys. It'd mean a lot. And if you have. You're awesome!

Did you accomplish some of your goals? What were they?
How was your summer?
Are you excited for school? I AM!
When did you start school? I started last Monday.

And to all you winter lovers like me. I want school to start school just because I want the cold weather. You call me weird for loving winter, I call you weird for not loving winter.

The Olympics Tag :D

HELLO EVERYBODY!
THIS IS THE BONUS POST I SAID I WAS GOING TO DO!

It's the Olympics Tag. I love the Olympics. We've been watching it all these couple weeks. It's something I always look forward too. So, I'm going to do this Olympics Tag because I LOVE THE OLYMPICS! WOO HOO! I'm so pumped. Except who is like dying cause they know it's going to end tomorrow. I'm so sad. Ugh. Don't leave me the Olympics.

RULES:
-Use the Blogging Olympics image (or make your own)
-Thank the person who tagged you and list the rules
-Answer the Olympics themed questions (feel free to make your own!)
-Tag others!

Oh btw I wasn't even tagged by someone. I just did it, so yeah. :P

1. TEAM?
USA USA USA USA USA USA USA!!!

2. IF YOU COULD COMPETE IN AN EVENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Well, uh gymnastics! But other than that I'd love to do swimming or volleyball. Or diving.

3. FAVORITE EVENT TO WATCH?
Of course, I love watching gymnastics. I also love swimming, diving, and volleyball. (Sorry if all the answers are the same)

4. OLYMPIAN YOU MOST ADMIRE?
Uh....ALY RAISMAN. SIMONE BILES. AND PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THE GYMNASTS.

Image result for Aly Raisman and Simone Biles

5. WHAT SPORTS DO YOU CURRENTLY PLAY?
GYMNASTICS! :)

6. SUMMER OR WINTER OLYMPICS?
SUMMER. I love Winter, but Summer is just the best. Mainly, because gymnastics and swimming are it. But still the summer Olympics seem so more celebrative. I love it.

8. A SPORT THAT SHOULD BE IN THE OLYMPICS?
Hm...I really think that every sport I can think of in it. Except baseball, but I don't think it should be. Maybe. IDK. Yeah I don't know anything.

9. WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD BE GOING THROUGH YOUR HEAD RIGHT BEFORE YOU WERE ABOUT TO COMPETE IN THE OLYMPICS?
I would be thinking, "Ellie, try really hard to get a gold, silver, or a bronze, but most of all have fun with your teammates. And just do your best to Ellie."

10. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE A LOCATION FOR THE OLYMPICS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I want to see it in China again. Maybe Italy. That'd be cool. Or Hawii. Or the Bahamas. Or...Scotland. Anywhere really. I love to see the different cultures in the countries when the Olympics come on.

I have two extra questions IF you want to answer them you can.

11. WHAT IS THE MOST BORING SPORT YOU'VE SEEN IN THE OLYMPICS?
I'd say the Horse races. That was bad.

12. IF YOU COULD RESPRESENT ANY OTHER COUNTRY BESIDES THE COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Well I gotta cut these down. For gymnastics I would want to be Russia cause they are good at it. Swimming, I don't know Australia I guess. And running, Nigeria.

Yeah..!!!!

I tag anyone. Don't be shy. DO IT IF YOU WANT.

And comment if you've been watching the Olympics and what's your favorite sport to watch?

Good Apples Friday // The Word Hate Part 2

Welcome to Good Apples Friday
Today I'm making a part 2 of my post about the word HATE.
If you haven't read it yet I would recommend you to. You can check it out right here.

Yesterday as I watched Usian Bolt, said to be the best runner of all time run.
These couple of races he's ran, have been easy for him because of the giant lead he has over all the runners. Great story. Awesome guy. What's so bad about him you might think?
He's addicted to the camera. He's said plenty of times, "I'm number one." Millions of people admire him and idolize him and he loves it. He feeds off it.
As I watched him I thought in my mind,
"I HATE HIM."
One thing I don't like to see is people bragging and telling others that they're number one.
But then I thought. What am I thinking?
Instead of hating him, I should pray for him.
He's lost.
He does not know Christ.
He runs for one thing. His glory.

Instead of hating him I should pray for him.
Pray that he would find Jesus.
That he would realize who number one is.
That he would give his life to God, not himself.

Many lives out there are lost.
I often always think bad things about them.
Instead I should love them
Pray for them.
Hate their sin.
Not them.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
Jeremiah 29:12

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Luke 6:27-28

We need to love others. Not hate them.

And this is my prayer.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
Proverbs 3:3-4

Lord, help me and all of these readers to love others. To not hate others for the wrong that they are doing, but love them and pray for them. Bind love around my neck and never let it leave me. I want to love like you. Help me to love more Jesus.

Good Apples Friday // Trust in God

Welcome to Good Apples Friday
Well I'm here typing with my sister's new awesome laptop. thanks sis. big sis's are the best guys.
I first want to apologize for not posting Tuesday. An all day trip to the water park just slipped up and I was to busy to post. But this Tuesday kinda relates to my post today.

I'm first going to talk about not doubting yourself.
And then, I'm going to talk about never giving up.

On Tuesday after our family had a nice time swimming I went to my first ever tumbling class. I admit I was a little nervous mainly about being around new people though. The class turned out great. I was a little behind everyone in m skills, but soon I caught up. I was extremely happy to hear my teacher's telling my parents that I was awesome and I was catching up with the other students who've been doing classes longer. And I'm not here to brag. I'm here to say.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF.

A year ago I started loving gymnastics and doing it at home. Firstly, if I ever wanted to play professionally I'd have a disadvantage because of the age I was already at. But I loved gymnastics. So, I worked hard. I looked up videos on YouTube. Sometimes I got discouraged because I loved gymnastics a lot, but lessons are expansive. I still want to train though. Even if I have to quit classes, I'll still be learning. It'll be hard, but I know that if God really wants me to be a gymnast it'll happen even if I'm teaching myself on the internet.

So, never give up guys. Never. Never doubt yourself and say, "Oh I'm to old," and "Oh I can't do this." Because remember that verse in Philippians that we say all the time.

After the long nights that I watch the Olympics sometimes I just think. If only that could be me.
Sure the possibilities are maybe small for me to go to the Olympics someday, but never say you can't.
My dad taught me never to say I want to do this, but I probably can't. Because you'll never do it if you keep saying you can't. I know that it'll be totally rare for me to go to the Olympics. But I know that I have a mighty God. And he has a special plan for me. And if it's the Olympics I'll praise him. And if it's not the Olympics, I'll praise him.

Lord, help me to trust in you. Even though it seems like it could never happen help me to know that you are God. And you control my life. Help me to never say I can't but to work hard. And most of all help me to glorify you in whatever I do.

This is my prayer.

hope you like!

bouncing in to say bye,
                              Bernie

p.s. I don't mean to brag. I'm just trying to give you an example.

Good Apples Friday // Psalm 43

Welcome to Good Apples Friday

Today I will be sharing a Psalm that I read today. Hope you like!

Psalm 34

I will extol the Lord at all times;
    his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
    let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
    he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
    their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
    he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
    for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
    I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Whoever of you loves life
    and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
    seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
    and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to blot out their name from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked;
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord will rescue his servants;
    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
