Why do you long for more?

Have you ever noticed the smile and joyfulness of a kid with a disease that makes them in constant pain? You’d think that they’d be screaming out so loudly about how they wish they never would’ve done that thing that changed their life or that if God really loved them he wouldn’t of let this happen to them, but no. Instead you see their faces shining with a so happy smile and their attitude about everything is so cool! They are so thankful for what they have received and always are so friendly. They don’t always judge or bully you and they don’t make fun of your appearance.
Then we look at another picture. Us. With great health and plenty of wealth, but what do we do. We sit around bullying kids and making fun of them. When we receive something we want more of it and won’t be happy and friendly until we have it. We make fun of peoples appearances and break them down. While we hear stories and reports about many dying people and many poor kids in different countries we sit craving for more.
Have you ever seen a very poor little child? His clothes are torn and his feet are bare, but he stands there with a smile! He remembers that maybe he doesn’t have food on the table everyday and maybe doesn’t have the nicest things. Sometimes his parents are dead or he doesn’t have a bed or even a shelter to sleep in every night, but he has something greater than any of those things. For all of things will soon pass away, but he will haveJESUS!
“All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall
but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
And this is the word that was preached to you.
If we have Jesus then why do we constantly want more. We are always looking at new things to buy, but really we don’t need that. Nothing. I mean NOTHING compares to the love of Jesus. And to get to be his friend. That’s better than ANYTHING. It’s better than more than a life supply of gold.
So why do we long for more? Why?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved us he gave his son to die for us? FOR YOU. Then why do we long for something else when someone DIED for us! So that you can have a second chance. And if you believe Jesus did this you will have eternal life.
What a friend we have in Jesus!
There is one more passage I would like to share with you. We talked about this in our Sunday School when Christmas was arriving. This is why we have so much joy around Christmas. Not only around Christmas but ALL THE TIME! Because he died for us! Because he took all of our sin and he blamed it on him. When he was innocent they killed him! They threw rocks at him.
So again why do we want more? When Jesus gave us this life. We would of been dead. All of you. But God died for us! He has gave you all of these blessing like family clothes, friends, the church, a shelter, but you are not satisfied.
Ephesians 2
 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christand seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Jesus died for you. He loves you. He gave you all of these stuff when you didn’t even deserve a penny of it. So why do you want more?
