Bernie's Random Ramblings // FCA CAMP.

Welcome back to Bernie's Random Ramblings!
Last week was one of my favorite weeks of the summer.
The three days where I would go to FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).
I've been a camper in the camp for three years, but unfortunately I was to old.
But take no fear for I volunteered.
Today I will tell you about the camp and the great adventures I got to be apart in.

Firstly, the worship, sermon, and huddle meeting.
We all have our huddles with around 15 people in them. When we met all of them we listened to worship which was amazing. We sang awesome songs and did some dancing too! If you haven't listen to You Make Me Brave, it's right here. Listen. The theme for this camp was Rise. Rise Tough, Rise Today, Rise Together, and Rise Tomorrow. The Pastor talked about Daniel who stood up for what was right. And he had to sit with lions for a couple days, but God had a plan for him. We talked about David who was strong and fought Goliath knowing God had a plan for him. Now I told those kids, this is for me. I'm shy. I'm 14 and still ask my sister to walk to the bathroom with me, sometimes talk to someone for me, and ask questions for me. little sis advantages lol ;P. (I'm, so glad I have a big sister) Although I was nervous when I had to teach the bible study to my huddle I really think they listened.

Now we skip the sports clinics, lunch, and go to Competition.
This is my favorite part. BUT LEADERS COULDN'T PLAY DOGDEBALL. The only time I can actually play and I can't. DEVASTATION. Everything else I played. Thankfully we only had to go outside and play a game once because it was in the high 90's with lots of humidity. Remember when we say we need fresh air, it wasn't fresh air. You know when you walk into a room filled with sweating boys who haven't put on deodorant in a LONG time. That's how it felt the second you stepped your foot outside. I sweat. We played awesome games. I'm a very competitive person if you didn't know so I got my group blue bandanas and blue and white war paint. We looked good. Oh and I almost forgot. Our team finished undefeated. kinda. We had one tie, but.... My best friend was in another team and they were undefeated the first day. This is a pretty big deal ya know? The next day we face them in dodge ball and we beat them. The next day, revenge is theirs. They want it ALMOST as bad as I do. But we won. Big win too. Yeah my team was the best. Sometimes I wanted those girls to lose though cause the weren't humble.

After all this I prayed. I still pray. And I'm still going to pray.
Pray for every single one to committed their life to Christ and who didn't.
I know when your there it's awesome.
You get to listen about Jesus without problems like school challenging them.
But when they come back into the real world, I'm afraid they'll just walk away.
And that's where I need to pray.
And you can too.
That they will use their Bible.
That they'll pray.
And realize they can't live life without Jesus.
That they are nothing without him.
I pray that when tough things come to them, they won't blame God and walk away from him.
But they will stay faithful and trust in him just like you trust a chair when you sit on it.
I ask that you would pray for these kids.
Some of them I noticed would often be strayed away by friends.
But that they would cling to Jesus.
And never let go.
This is my prayer.

bouncing in to say bye,

  1. That's awesome Bernie. It's great to see what God is doing in the lives of us teenagers, and younger. We definitely need to pray for teenagers these days because they're told one thing at church and another by the world. It's a fallen world and sadly many teens can't decide which to choose. Thanks for sharing.

    1. It is. Exactly. When your at camp it's almost like heaven. Where all you hear is God. But when your in the real world you have to face big decisions. And it's very easy to stray away from Jesus.
