the word HATE

HATE
verb (used with object)hated, hating.
1.
to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest:
to hate the enemy; to hate bigotry.
I've been trying to get better and not say hate so much.
Hate really is a strong word.
And when we say we hate someone that means a lot.
God told us to love everyone.
If you hate something or someone that makes you a hater.

             HATER

a person who has an intense dislike for another person or thing (often used in combination): I'm abig hater of opera.

2.
Informal. a person who thrives on showing hate toward, criticizing, or belittling other people or things, usually unfairly:
The guy is just a hater, looking for a fight.
Now I don't know about you, but I don't want anybody saying I'm a hater.
We might hate someone because of their sin.
John 3:15 says this,
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
When we hate people for their sin we don't recognize that we have the same sin too.
In Romans 3:10 it says,
As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
In Mathew 7:1-5 is says to,
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
We don't not understand that we are sinners too.
We forget that we're not perfect either.
But instead of hating each other we need to love.
We need to forgive each other.
I love these verses telling how God forgave us.
Hebrews 10:17
Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Everyday we want to be more like Jesus.
We need to forgive like Jesus does.
And we need to love each other.
Not hate each other.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 John 4:18-19

18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.

John 15:13

13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Colossians 3:14

14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

One quote I love that I remembering when I say I hate someone.
This is so true!
I love it!

Next time when you say you hate someone I hope you remember this.
And I'll end on this.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

  1. Great post, Ellie! I absolutely love the picture! It's so true! Thankfully, I'm not one to hate people but I have said before, that I hate my legs. I say it as in because they have been injured for four years now. Of course, right after I said that, I watched a video of these people who were so happy and they didn't have legs. It definitely reminds me to always be thankful. Even though they bother me and hurt, I need to be thankful to have them and being able to walk.

  2. This is very true. I think a lot of times people forget to love those they don't agree with or think are bad people, and this is a very good reminder.

  3. This is so true Ellie! I tend to say I hate people when I'm angry at them or when they're being annoying, but sometimes I say it for no logical reason at all. Thank you for this post! It helped me a lot :)
