Be Thankful

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!
AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
One of my lessons for the week is being thakful. Yesterday my dad, mom, brother, and me went to Kohls to return a pair of tennis shoes so I could get a pair I liked a little more. After two hours of shopping for some I found nothing and left the store with empty hands. I saw this pair of black and white tennis shoes. They're nikes. And I loved them! Well I couldn't get them and after I saw those shoes I really wanted nothing else. After that I was picky. Cause all I really wanted was that shoe.  Anywho, I got a pair of shoes at another store after getting the big talk with my dad. I liked them a lot though. Anyway, my point is we need to be thankful. That's something I've failed at this week. We deserve nothing of this. Only to be sent to hell. But God have forgiven us and gave us so much. Even when we sin against him so much everyday. He has been gracious to us. Thank you Jesus! There are kids around the country with no shoes, a home, a bed, or a bible. People around the world REJOICE for just one page of the bible in their language. And I have what like 20 bibles in my whole house. We have so much to be thankful for. God is so good to us! And let me share this lyric that I love form the song "Amen, He Lives" By Matt Maher.
Because He lives
I can face tomorrow
I just love this lyric because it reminds me of how God died on the cross for me. For the people who wanted to kill him. For Pilot. For me. For my family.
Because he lives I can face tomorrow. Thank you Jesus.
And last of all I have a post I posted on my group blog a long time ago.
I hope you like!
Sometimes we are so caught up in what we can have that we forget what we have.
We forget that that we don’t deserve anything.
Not our family.
Not a bed.
Not even a single penny.
So why should we want more.
Sometimes I like to think of all the big blessings God has given me.
Even the little ones too.
Like my bed.
And my family.
My education.
Food.
Technology where we can communicate with long distance friends.
A bible.
A notebook and pencil.
Some people have none of these things.
They live in a little house.
They go days without eating.
And they don’t have shoes to wear outside.
Why do I want so much more when I do not even deserve anything.
And while others just pray for a meal.
I want something like a shiny bicycle.
Thank you God for blessing me with all these many many blessing.
Although I deserve none of them.
You give them to me.
When others hated you and spit on you.
You died for them.
Thank you Jesus!

Hope you like!

  2. Thank you so much for this post Ellie! It really encouraged me to think more when I want something, or when I'm upset. Just yesterday when we arrived at the house we are staying in for our holiday, I got upset because there were only four beds and a cot, and I can't sleep in a cot! I moaned about how it was unfair that I always slept on the floor because I was the youngest, but eventually I got my bed and my brother slept on the sofa (where he wanted to sleep). You have reminded me that I shouldn't complain, because I hardly deserve that bed. Someone else in the world needs it more than me. Sorry for that boring story. Thanks again! :)

  3. This is very good. It is so easy to loose track of what really matters in life and where we stand in the big picture.
